Eligibility Requirements for the Extended Day Program
Traditional High School Student
To be considered for enrollment in the Extended Day Program, the student must meet the following requirements:
The student must be in the 11th or 12th grade and at least 16 years of age. The student must first contact their home high school counselor to discuss eligibility and obtain a recommendation.
The student must have successfully completed a minimum of eleven (11) units of credit.
The student must be a resident of the Carroll County School System.
The student must be currently enrolled in a Carroll County School System high school.
The student must be referred to the Extended Day Program by their high school counselor or administrator due to the need for a more flexible schedule (e.g., family responsibilities, work commitments, or health concerns).
The student must have reliable transportation, the ability to work independently, and access to a computer or device with internet connectivity. Coursework is completed through the Edgenuity (E2020) online platform.
Once enrolled as a full-time student in the Extended Day Program (i.e., not attending any other school), the student may not re-enroll in a traditional day school until the start of that school’s next semester—unless approval is granted by the home school.
The student and their parent/guardian must attend an orientation session with the counselor to review specific requirements, expectations, and responsibilities of the Extended Day Program.
Traditional high school students may participate in the graduation ceremony at their home high school. All graduation-related fees are the responsibility of the student.
